This is a brief summary of each:
• K1 Visa – This is the fiance visa, used by people who are engaged to be married to a US Citizen. The visa is used to get married in the USA.
• K2 Visa – If you are a US Citizen applying for your fiance’s K1 Visa, your fiance’s children will use the K2 visa to accompany your fiance to the USA. In other words, the K2 visa is for your future step-children to enter the USA.
• K3 Visa – This is known as the spouse visa, used by people who are already married to a US Citizen. The visa allows you to come to the US while your Green Card application is being processed. In other words, it is used as a temporary bridge to come to the USA between applying for a Green Card and getting the Green Card.
• K4 Visa – If you are a US Citizen applying for your husband or wife’s K3 Visa, the children of your spouse will use the K4 visa to accompany your spouse to the USA. In other words, the K4 visa is for your step-children to enter the USA.
